Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
At Allura Couture House we take the same care with your personal information as we do with our pieces. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, who we share it with and the choices and rights you have. It applies when you visit alluracouturehouse.com, place an order, sign up to our emails or contact us.
Who is responsible for your information
Allura Couture House, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is responsible for your personal information (the "controller"). You can contact us about anything in this policy at andreea@alluracouturehouse.com.
We aim to handle your information in line with the data protection laws that apply to you, including the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.
What we collect
- Contact and delivery details: your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address.
- Order details: what you buy, exchange or return, and your order history.
- Payment information: payments are processed securely by our payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details (such as the card type and last four digits), but never your full card number.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login details and preferences.
- Messages: anything you tell us when you email us or use our contact form, including sizing questions.
- Marketing preferences: whether you have signed up to our emails and how you interact with them (for example, whether an email was opened).
- Device and usage information: such as your IP address, browser, device type, approximate location, the pages you visit and how you arrived at our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).
A note about pregnancy information. We never ask you for health information. Sometimes, when asking for sizing advice, you may choose to tell us how far along your pregnancy is or share other details about your body. Information about pregnancy is treated as sensitive (health) information under data protection laws. If you choose to share it, we use it only to help you with your enquiry or order, on the basis of your explicit consent, and we don't use it for marketing. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
How and why we use your information
- To process and deliver your order, including payment, delivery, exchanges, returns and refunds, and to send you order and delivery updates. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To answer your questions and provide sizing and styling help. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in helping our customers, or taking steps at your request before an order. Your explicit consent for any pregnancy details you choose to share.
- To send you our newsletter and offers by email, only if you have signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. Legal basis: your consent.
- To understand how our website is used and improve it. Legal basis: your consent, where required for cookies; otherwise our legitimate interest in running a good website.
- To show you relevant Allura advertising on other websites and social media, only where you have agreed to marketing cookies, or where this is otherwise permitted by the law that applies to you. Legal basis: your consent.
- To keep our shop secure and prevent fraud, including automated fraud checks on orders by our e-commerce and payment providers. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, and legal obligations.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping business and accounting records and responding to lawful requests from authorities. Legal basis: legal obligation.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
Who we share it with
We share information only with trusted service providers who help us run Allura, and only as needed:
- Shopify, the platform that hosts our website and processes orders. Shopify also uses some information for its own purposes, such as fraud prevention and its own services, as described in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.
- Payment providers, such as Shopify Payments and its payment partners, and any other payment option you choose at checkout.
- Delivery partners and couriers, who need your name, address and contact details to deliver your order and, for international orders, to clear customs.
- Email and marketing services (such as Shopify Email), to send emails you have signed up for.
- Analytics and advertising partners (for example Google, Meta, TikTok or Pinterest), only where you have agreed to the relevant cookies or where otherwise permitted by law.
- Professional advisers (such as accountants or lawyers), and authorities or courts where we are required by law, or where needed to protect our rights or prevent fraud.
International transfers
We are based in the UAE, and some of our service providers (including Shopify) store or process information in other countries, such as Canada, the United States, Ireland and other EU countries. When information is transferred across borders, we rely on safeguards recognised by the applicable law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses provided by our service providers.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies, which make the shop work (for example, your shopping bag and checkout). These are always on.
- Analytics cookies, which help us understand how visitors use our website.
- Marketing cookies, which help us and our advertising partners show you relevant Allura adverts and measure how well they work.
Where the law requires your consent (for example in the EU and UK), analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie or privacy preferences link on our website, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: for as long as required for accounting and legal purposes, generally up to 5 years after your order.
- Messages and sizing enquiries: for up to 2 years after our last contact, unless they form part of an order record. Any pregnancy details you share are deleted once they are no longer needed for your enquiry or order.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. We keep a record of your unsubscribe so that we don't email you again.
- Account: until you ask us to close it.
- Cookies: as shown in your browser or cookie settings.
Keeping it safe
We use reputable, secure platforms and limit access to your information to what is needed. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password for your account and contact us straight away if you think something is wrong.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- be informed about how your information is used, and access a copy of it;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information (unless we have to keep it, for example for accounting records);
- restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting at any time to direct marketing;
- receive your information in a portable format and have it transferred to another provider;
- withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it); and
- not be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that significantly affect you.
To use any of these rights, email andreea@alluracouturehouse.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will reply within the time required by the law that applies to you. You won't be treated differently for using your rights.
US residents: depending on your state, you may have the right to opt out of "sale", "sharing" or targeted advertising. You can do this on our Your Privacy Choices page. We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal where it applies.
Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first. We would like the chance to put it right. You may also complain to your local data protection authority, for example the UAE Data Office, the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), the data protection authority in your EU country, or the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) in the UK.
Children
Our website and products are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the latest version here with the date it was updated and, where the change is significant, let you know.
